Olli's Adventures, the Introduction.

Welcome to our blog, Olli's Adventures. So firstly, lets introduce ourselves, and our boat, Olli.

We are Gary and Louise Johnson from Southern Ontario, and Olli is our 31 foot Chaparral 310 Signature cruiser. Her name is One Life.Live it, shortened by us to Olli.

We are not new to boating, but are new to this style and size of boat. We owned an 18 foot Glastron 175sx in the UK, and owned a decent sized trailer too, so we felt that this would combine both with our love of being on the water, and the RV lifestyle added.

So after many years of being away from the water and RV lifestyle, we 'bit the bullet' in September 2012 and purchased our boat from Pride Marine Group in Innisfil Beach, Ontario. The downside.....buying a boat in late September doesn't get you onto the water here, as a lot of Boats are being pulled out and readied for the winter season.
So we have a great boat that is currently on dry land, winterized, and shrink wrapped for the winter.

What that has done is make it seem like a very long and cold winter season here, knowing that we have a boat waiting for the spring weather to come and take the snow away.

we have visited the winter boat shows, bought our accessories and more importantly, a life vest for our third crew mate.

This is Indi, our 5 year old female boxer, who is a barrel of fun, but isn't too impressed with her attire! She is a real live wire, and will always try to chase birds. So the first time a duck swims past the transom, she will get wet for sure, hence the life jacket.

So that in a nut shell, is our introduction and the start of our blog to catalogue the fun, adventure and travels that we will have with Olli on beautiful Lake Erie.

We will post updates as we get nearer to the date that She gets delivered to us at the marina.

Bring on the Spring!

  1. She looks great and fast. Hope Indi enjoys the boat when is going in the water? or is it still winter.
